- The pulp and paper industry uses hydrogen peroxide as a bleaching agent and as a reducing agent in the production of chlorine dioxide. It is also a common bleaching agent used in the textile industry.
- Hydrogen peroxide is used in the manufacture of both inorganic and organic chemicals and for the surface treatment of metals.
- The gentle effectiveness and harmless by-products of hydrogen peroxide have made it a natural for environmental remediation applications and treating industrial and municipal waste water.
- Its bactericidal properties make it useful in various water and food disinfection applications, as well. Hydrogen peroxide, under strict marketing authorization, is also used to treat parasites in Aquaculture
