Pilot® SXS-40 is a multifunctional anionic surfactant that can be utilized in HI&I products. Pilot® SXS-40 is especially used in formulations with high amounts of builders and salts where surfactants tend to come out of solution. Pilot® SXS-40 is used to solubilize organic surfactants in cleaners, detergents, organic polymers, and dyestuffs, as well as to stabilize solutions of alkanolamides. Pilot® SXS-40 is used to improve the solubility, making the formulation clear and homogenous. The addition of Pilot® SXS-40 to solutions of organic sulfonates reduces the viscosity and cloud point, improving the clarity of a hazy or cloudy formula. Pilot® SXS-40 contains no alcohol allowing formulators to use without lowering the flashpoint of their product.
