Its properties as a lubricant, thickener, defoaming agent, mold release agent, softener, and conditioner make it useful in industries such as cosmetics and personal care, textiles, rubber, and pharmaceuticals. It can also be used to synthesize chemical intermediates, such as fatty acid esters.

It can be used as a lubricant, thickener, defoaming agent, mold release agent, softener, conditioner, and as a dispersant. Additionally, PEG€™s can be used to make chemical intermediates such as fatty acid esters.
